Tyn Llyn
Tyn Llyn is situated high in the hills by the lake “Llyn Creini”. A very remote location and one of the quietest places on the planet. Essentially it is “off grid” there is no mains electricity. There are now solar panels charging batteries for 12v lighting but we don’t have a TV. We do have a form of wi-fi which may be good enough for your own devices, we were not talking about gaming here though! Most guests are there for the surrounding countryside, night sky and peace and quiet, but the accommodation has just been drastically improved! See below: –
You have the lake and 600 acres of private land to explore. Have a look at the clip for a rather flattened view (drone a bit too high!). It takes you on past the farmhouse to the fort “Caer Euni”. Where the land and the lake get their name.
The space
So much of the space is outside really, but downstairs there is a cosy sitting room with the essential wood burner and small kitchen. Upstairs a double bedroom with plenty of rugs on the bed and a small bathroom with conventional suite, but read on!
Back to the description!
Heating is all from the wood burner in the sitting room and now also the sauna stove at the other end of the ground floor. We do supply logs and give you a good starter basket, but you can also forage for wood.
The water supply is from the lake and for washing plates and the loos etc. So you collect tap water from us on your way past in a 5 gallon container.
Guest access
You are on your own with the lake in front of you. Hills, mountain and valleys to explore. There is a kayak you can use and a large rowing boat, coarse fishing and swimming all possibilities! We may be able to lend you mountain bikes.
Other things to note
We live over the hill at Caerau Uchaf and are there to help. We run a small cafe at our open gardens in the season so you may want to walk over and say hello sometime. We also have a washing machine and tumble drier for your use.

Book to Eat
Please help us out and book for lunch. It's easy, you do not pay anything now, and to guarantee you a table we need to know numbers.
This becomes especially important on Sundays when we serve Sunday lunch, we need to know quantities well in advance and we stop taking bookings for this by 10am that morning. We do not revert to the usual menu until after 2pm.
